Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- Donald John Trump is preparing to be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, January 20, 2025 after defeating Kamala Harris in the US Presidential Election on November 5, 2024.
The re-election of Donald Trump as President of the World Superpower certainly provides sentiment for the economy and global financial markets. Reflecting on Trump's leadership from 2017-2021, Senior Executive Investment BNI Asset Management, Farash Farich said the market had reacted to the Trump 2.0 era which resulted in volatility.
Currently, the market is waiting for the realization of Trump's policy direction that has been expected by the market so that market volatility will remain, especially in the exchange rate. The rupiah is predicted to still weaken in the range of 2% so that foreign capital flows can gradually enter the domestic market.
In addition, the market will see the direction of Trump's economic policy regarding import tariffs which will have an impact on inflation and its effect on the Fed's interest rate policy. Where currently expectations for a reduction in the Fed Funds Rate (FFR) are decreasing and it is estimated that there will only be 1 cut in 2025.
